Hearing loss is invisible. Many times teachers and even parents will say “they can hear me”-They are just fine (meaning they are not a behavior problem). ”They do everything I ask them to do”, “they can repeat what I say to them” Other times "they just don’t want to do…” or “they are lazy", "non motivated” or “bad attitude.” Someone observing a student with hearing loss may believe that he or she has an attention or behavior problem, or a learning disability. ANY hearing loss is considered educationally significant! Learn how we can help you understand how D/HH kids use their amplification, why it is so important for them to wear their device(s) all waking hours and how to pair devices to bluetooth, and or remote microphones.
