The Grid Method is a mastery approach to learning; it promotes student regulated learning and autonomy. With The Grid Method, students are able to move at their own pace, review and reattempt assignments to demonstrate mastery of the standard being addressed. Students are empowered using this learning approach because it builds their self-esteem with math and makes them feel more confident. This method allows teachers to easily differentiate their lessons and provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate creativity.
